Polynucleotides use the latest technology in skin rejuvenation: injectable polynucleotides (PDRN) which are naturally occurring DNA building blocks, usually derived from salmon or trout before being ultra-purified. Once injected into the skin, these have a remarkable ability to promote fibroblast activity and cell turnover, improving skin elasticity and hydration, as well as healing sun damaged skin, photoaging and acne scarring.
We choose to use Plinest which was awarded ‘Injectable product of the year 2025’ for its effectiveness and safety profile. Last year we added in the sister product Newest, also from Mastelli.

At your appointment, you will initially have numbing cream applied to your face, to ensure you are quite comfortable.
The treatment involves lots of tiny injections around your eye, resulting in multiple raised blisters which may be apparent afterwards for up to 3 days. We may also use a cannula for other areas of the face or neck.
A course of treatments is invariably recommended for best results: Plinest x 3 spaced 3-4 weeks apart / and Newest x 2 spaced 3-4 weeks apart.

Polynucleotides have an excellent safety record, although it is not uncommon to get some mild swelling and redness surrounding the raised blebs for up to 48 hours. Beyond that, bruising can occur which may take up to 10 days to resolve.

Whilst you can see results after 3-4 weeks, we find best results are after a course of 2-3 treatments.

Newest is a unique biorevitalising injectable that combines polynucleotides with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. Used in more mature skin, or for peri-oral rejuvenation, it allows for intense hydration as well as improvement in barcode lip lines and wrinkles, without the volume replenishment seen with filler treatment.
