Many small skin lesions such as skin tags, keratoses, warts and benign (non-cancerous) moles can be assessed and treated in a single consultation. Depending on the anatomical site and size, removing lesions involves a small minor operation performed under local anaesthetic. If during your assessment the doctor identifies any suspicious lesions you will be advised how to have these checked.

We are registered to undertake Jockey Medicals for Horse Racing in line with the guidelines set out by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). The BHA is responsible for setting and enforcing these standards of medical care for jockeys across all licence types, including point to point and Arab racing.
With a background in General Practice and racing, as well as holding an amateur licence, Dr Guy Mitchell fully understands the demands of the sport, and can offer flexible times to suit. Medicals can only be undertaken by a doctor with access on the day to the NHS GP Medical Records summary.

The Lodsworth Clinic is a registered British Horseracing Authority (BHA) Concussion Assessment Centre.
Here we offer assessment across the full concussion management process, from baseline cognitive testing, trackside diagnosis and care through to post-injury follow-up, assessment and treatment and return-to-riding clearance. The assessments are carried out by our nurse specialist Anna Harrison, or Dr Guy Mitchell.

More about Dr Guy Mitchell
Guy completed his medical training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1998, followed by six years of surgical training in West Sussex and Western Australia before moving into General Practice, where he was a partner at Pulborough Medical Group for 12 years. He has a strong background in dermatology and minor skin surgery, is an experienced vasectomy surgeon, and also works as a Specialist Doctor in Urology at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.
Alongside his clinical work, Guy is passionate about sports medicine. He is a Racecourse Medical Doctor at Ascot, Windsor and Goodwood, works with the British Horseracing Authority, and is Team Doctor for Harlequins Rugby Club. With expertise in concussion assessment and pitch-side care, he is committed to protecting the health and wellbeing of sportspeople at all levels. An endurance athlete himself, Guy enjoys cycling, running and triathlons, and holds an amateur jockey licence — most recently becoming the UK’s first one-eyed jockey to ride a winner at Goodwood.
